Rick Neuheisel Predicts Major College Football Upset in the Big Ten on Saturday

Former collegiate head coach and current CBS Sports analyst Rick Neuheisel is riding high after successfully predicting that the Oregon Ducks would upset the Ohio State Buckeyes in Eugene, Oregon last Saturday. Now, he’s eyeing more potential upsets that could shake up the top-25 rankings.

His latest prediction centers on the top-25 matchup between the No. 24 Michigan Wolverines and the No. 23 Illinois Fighting Illini . While Michigan is currently favored by 3.5 points according to DraftKings Sportsbook , Neuheisel is backing Brett Bielema’s squad, picking Illinois to upset the Wolverines at home.

"I am going to go with Illinois in this game. Brett Bielema is a Big Ten guy... I think that offense plays well in front of the home crowd, and Michigan still has to prove to me they have the forward pass." Neuheisel said.

Both teams are hanging on by a thread in the rankings, and the loser will likely find themselves out of the top 25 when the AP Poll is released after Saturday's games.

This matchup promises to be intriguing. Michigan boasts a strong running game led by the elite duo of Kalel Mullings and Donovan Edwards , but they must demonstrate the ability to throw the football effectively. With Jack Tuttle stepping in as their third starting quarterback of the season, the pressure is on.

If Michigan hopes to achieve anything significant this season—especially after winning the National Championship last year—they need to establish a formidable passing game. Otherwise, they risk continuing to lose to teams that can exploit their vulnerabilities.
