The Santa Barbara Zoo gets ready for Boo at the Zoo with Dr. Frogenstein

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Dr. Frogenstein is supposed to be getting ready for Boo at the Zoo in Santa Barbara.

After all, he is the star of the show.

"I’m Dr. Frogenstein ... I’m one of the mad scientists you can meet at the Santa Barbara Zoo … you can come help me do my spooky science," said Frogenstein of the Santa Barbara Zoo.

For the next two weekends, the zoo is going to be transformed into a monstrous house of thrills and chills.

“Wild animal encounters spooky stories were bringing back our scare zone. We’re gonna have dance opportunities at DJ houses and it’s just gonna be a really fun family night," said director of education JJ McLeod of the Santa Barbara Zoo.

Organizers are highlighting inclusivity, no "madder" who you are.

"I’m very 'mad,'" sand Frogenstein.

"Inclusion is huge Santa Barbara zoo we really strive I have a deep commitment to make all of our events … you can send any type of accommodations that you need to help your family and we will make it happen," said McLeod.

“I’m excited because it’s just a fun place to take the kids and see all the decorations it is really neat," said visitor Jodi Aguirre of the Santa Barbara Zoo.

Organizers are expecting a packed crowd, especially with all the new attractions at the zoo this Halloween season.

If you’re planning to attend Boo at the Zoo, be prepared, the number science activities from one mad scientist are endless.

"What do we have? "We have excellent experiments we have spooky science we have a scare zone. We can meet a dinosaur that I brought back in my time machine," said Frogenstein.

The event runs Oct. 18 to 20 and Oct. 25 to 27 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
