ESPN’s Pat McAfee is a well-known friend of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

So when there’s big Rodgers-related news, McAfee and his daily “Pat McAfee Show” are typically the go-to source to get Rodgers’ reaction about what’s being portrayed about him in the media.

Tuesday’s show was no exception, as it marked Rodgers’ first public comments since it was announced the Jets had traded for his former teammate and close friend Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams also made an appearance during Rodgers’ segment.

That day’s show drew 50 million viewers across all platforms, making it the most-watched “Pat McAfee Show” in the program’s history, according to ESPN PR.

McAfee gave a tip of his cap in a tweet of his own, stating “@AaronRodgers12 Tuesday still has its fastball.” He also took a few moments to acknowledged the record-breaking feat in the opening moments of Thursday’s show.

“It’s a nice little reminder that we are living the dumbest life of all time,” McAfee said . “Thank you all so much for allowing us to do it. We’ll continue to cover the sports world and be a distraction from everything that’s so serious in life until you stop having us, pretty much.”

During Tuesday’s interview, McAfee was asking Rodgers when he heard the news Adams had been traded to New York and what his reaction was.

Rodgers then surprised the viewers by revealing that Adams was actually with him in person. Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich disclosed this week that Adams is expected to make his team debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
