On Wednesday, a blitz operation was conducted at a shoe store in the 3000 block of East Fourth Street, the LAPD statement said.

"A blitz operation is when law enforcement strategically saturates an area with personnel and resources to address a specific issue," the statement said. "A total of three suspects were arrested for organized retail theft."

LAPD officers arrested 19-year-old Haleni Sitani, 21-year-old Tyjari Williams and 21-year-old Amya Atkins.

Anyone with information on the case or on other retail thefts was urged to call LAPD Hollenbeck Burglary Theft detectives at 323-224-0110. Tipsters may also call 877-LAPD-247, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
