We are looking forward to another successful season!Kent City Wrestling Youth Wrestling 2024-2025Where: Kent City High School Wrestling RoomWho: Kindergarten – 5th grade (6th – 8th grade can join but are encouraged to wrestle for the MS team.)When: Tuesday, December 3 – Thursday, February 27 (Tuesday and Thursday nights with some exceptions such as Christmas Break)Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.Instructors: Chad Kik, Jarrud Ellicott, Chris Sandison, wrestling alumni, and the HS teamCost: The cost is $50.If you plan on doing tournaments, MYWA cards can be purchased separately for $20.Registration<ul><li>Contact Kaitlyn Goguen at kpotte07@gmail.com</li><li>You may also register on the first night: December 3rd. </li><li>There will also be a parent meeting that evening as well. </li></ul>Special Notes<ul><li>The Kent City Youth Wrestling Club will once again be participating in MYWA wrestling this winter. </li><li>This is youth wrestling that focuses on collegiate wrestling similar to what is done at the junior high and high school levels.</li></ul><ul><li>We will attempt to host dual meets with other schools on Friday nights from 7:00 – 8:30 starting in January. The schedule will be available as the season progresses, and it is a great opportunity for kids to get matches. Coaches try to match kids up on ability and experience. We will also travel to a couple of other schools for dual meets as well. </li></ul><ul><li>There will be merchandise to purchase such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, and singlets. Order forms will be available at registration as well.</li></ul><ul><li>Wrestlers may just come to practice if they choose. They do not need to compete on Friday nights or at the MYWA tournaments on Sundays.</li></ul><ul><li>Shorts and a t-shirt are fine for practice. Wrestlers will either need to bring clean shoes or wrestling shoes in order to keep our mats clean. Headgear is also recommended for practice. However, it is mandatory for tournaments.</li></ul><ul><li>Practice starts at 6:00, and because of high school practice, please do not enter the wrestling room until 5:50.</li></ul><ul><li>This year, we will be entering the wrestling room through the hallway in order to keep the room clean. Wrestlers and parents may use the doors at the north end of the high school to enter.
