The Salve Regina campus is enriched by the powerful voice of Mohamad “Omar” Kaziz, a student activist who brings his passion and leadership to not only the university but also the Newport community. Originally from Damascus, Syria, Kaziz is a senior global studies major with minors in political science and entrepreneurship. Throughout his academic career at Salve, he has organized countless protests, vigils and other events to make the student body aware of what he sees as pressing global and campus issues. As Kaziz embarks on his final year at Salve Regina, we sat down to reflect on all that he has accomplished.
