CHICAGO — A man and a woman were kidnapped at gunpoint and forced to withdraw their money from several different ATMs overnight, according to Chicago police.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. Thursday on the 3400 block of West 26th Street in the Little Village neighborhood.

Police said a 48-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were about to enter Los Tamales de la Tia restaurant, possibly to open it for the day, when a dark-colored SUV pulled up and five men exited the vehicle, three armed with a gun.

The men entered Los Tamales de la Tia with the victims and removed property from the restaurant.

The offenders then forced the man and woman into the SUV, took their property and drove them to several different ATMs, withdrawing the victims’ money.

Police said the offenders then released the man and woman from the SUV and fled.

    The victims were not injured.

No one is in custody and Area Three Detectives are investigating.
