TikToker Goes Viral After Sharing One Direction Theory 1 Week Before Liam Payne’s Death

A TikToker has gone viral for all the wrong reasons after her theory about a One Direction reunion coincided with Liam Payne’s death.

“My newest One Direction theory is that one day we will have a reunion and it’s going to be four out of the five, and except Zayn [Malik] being gone, it’s going to be Liam being gone. So, we’re going to have a four for four and my only confirmation for this is that it’s 4:44 right now,” TikTok content creator @Ashtyn444 said in a video she posted on October 11.

Fans quickly flooded the comments and revealed their shock at Ashtyn’s prediction.

“Umm… you upload this 6 DAYS AGO?? HELLO!?!?!” wrote one person, while another person added, “This was posted 6 days ago. SIX DAYS AGO.”

Five days after Ashtyn shared her theory about a potential One Direction reunion, Liam died at the age of 31 after a fall from a third-story hotel balcony on Wednesday, October 16. While it was unclear how the singer fell to his death at first, on Thursday, October 17, the Associated Press reported that he had “jumped from the balcony of his room.” The communications director for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry, Pablo Policicchio, confirmed the news in a statement.

Policicchio added that a call about an “aggressive man possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol” led to authorities being dispatched to the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, just after 5 p.m.

Telemundo obtained an audio clip of the 911 call and a member of the hotel staff told the dispatcher that a guest had “overindulged on drugs and alcohol.”

“When he is conscious he breaks, he is breaking the whole room. Well, we need you to send someone, please,” the staff member continued. “The guest is in a room that has a balcony and, well, we are a little afraid that he might do something life-threatening.”

The staff member never specifically mentioned the “What Makes You Beautiful” singer by name, however. Liam was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There was no possibility of resuscitating him,” Buenos Aires police said. “He had extremely severe injuries that were incompatible with life due to the fall.”

Liam and his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, had traveled to Argentina to watch his former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan perform on October 4. While Kate, 25, and Liam were only supposed to be in Buenos Aires for “five days,” according to a video shared by Kate on Monday, October 14, the couple had been in South America for two weeks. Kate ended up leaving Liam behind and explained that she was excited to return to her home state of Florida.

“I was just like, ‘I need to go home,’” Kate said in the clip that included footage of her flight, and captioned the video, “Soooo happpii to b back in sunshine state.”

She never detailed why Liam chose to stay behind while she returned home, and the “Story of My Life” singer had appeared to be in good spirits as he posted on social media in the hours leading up to his death.
