Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Officially Starts New Gig Amid NFL Season

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce recently started his acting career on the FX original series "Grotesquerie." Kelce's character, Ed Lachlan, first appeared on the show in episode three, which aired Oct. 2.

As the crime drama series winds down with only three episodes remaining, Kelce has already added to his Hollywood resume as he signed on the be the host of the Amazon Prime gameshow "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?"

The rebooted edition of Jeff Foxworthy's popular show "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" made its three-episode premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 16, with the 35-year-old Kelce front-and-center.

The show brought on a few different celebrities for its debut, including comedians Nikki Glaser and Ron Funches and former Cincinnati Bengals star Chad Johnson, among others.

The new series tests contestants on all subjects learned from first to fifth grade, all for a chance to win the grand prize of $100,000. The celebrities brought on are allowed to help each contestant if they need it. According to the New York Post , Amazon has confirmed 20 episodes in the first season, with a new one releasing every Wednesday night up until Feb. 12.

Kelce has kicked off his new profession as his NFL career enters its tail end. Coming off the bye week, the Chiefs sit at 5-0 and remain the only undefeated team in the AFC. But, it has been a slow start for the former Cincinnati Bearcats star, as Kelce has only recorded 24 catches for 228 yards.

2024 also marks the first time Kelce has failed to get into the endzone five games into a season in his 12-year career, excluding his rookie season, where he only played in one contest.

Amid all the career moves Kelce has made recently, he and his girlfriend, singer Taylor Swift, have been the center of attention during their recent public appearances. The couple showed up at the ALCS Game 1 between the New York Yankees and Kelce's hometown team, the Cleveland Guardians. They also recently went on a double date in SoHo, NYC, with Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.
