Caitlin Clark Receives 3-Word Message From Former Iowa Hawkeyes Teammate

Caitlin Clark's first season in the WNBA was quite a good one. The star Indiana Fever guard managed to become an All-Star in just her first professional season, in addition to winning the Rookie of the Year award, and earning spots on the All-Rookie and All-WNBA first teams.

Clark's numbers on the season weren't as explosive as they were during her time in college with the Iowa Hawkeyes (19.2 points per game, 8.4 assists per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, 41.7 field goal percentage), but they were still wildly impressive, as seen with all the records she managed to break over a span of just 40 games.

While Clark achieved a lot as a rookie, her latest achievement, which was her spot on the All-WNBA first team, may be the most impressive of the bunch. With another accolade to her name, Clark has drawn quite a bit of praise as a result, including from her former Iowa teammate Gabbie Marshall.

Clark and Marshall were teammates at Iowa for four seasons together, and the pair have remained close friends, even though they no longer are playing on the same team as each other.

While Clark opted to enter the WNBA Draft after the Hawkeyes 2023-24 campaign came to a conclusion, Marshall opted to retire from the game of basketball and go to graduate school rather than trying to pursue a professional basketball career.

While Iowa fans were disappointed they didn't get to see this duo take the court alongside each other anymore, they can rest assured knowing they are still friends to this day, which doesn't seem likely to change anytime soon.

For now, Clark is enjoying some much needed downtime from the game of basketball, but before you know it, she will be back in action with the Fever for the upcoming 2025 WNBA campaign.
