PLAY Airlines (OG) has announced a strategic shift in its operations, opting to cut services to North American destinations while increasing scheduled flights to Southern Europe. This change marks a significant departure from the airline’s longstanding focus on attracting travelers to Iceland with convenient stopovers between Europe and North America.

As demand for services to Southern Europe rises, PLAY has decided to reassess its North American routes, which currently include flights from Keflavik International Airport (KEF) to Boston, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Stewart, New York, and Hamilton, Ontario. By reducing its U.S. presence, the Reykjavik-based airline aims to enhance connectivity between Iceland and Southern Europe.
