Game Day: Philadelphia AT Seattle, Players To Watch

The Kraken start a five game homestand Thursday night at Climate Pledge arena against the Philadelphia Flyers, puck drop is at 7PM PST.

Seattle returns home from their first road trip of the regular season on a high note, having won two games against the Minnesota Wild and Nashville Predators. Tonight marks one of their two matchups against the Flyers this season. The teams will meet again on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Comparing stats the Flyers lead on penalty kill percentage and power play goals, but have had a slow start picking up wins at home or away.  The Kraken's leading scorers are one point ahead of the Flyers with Jordan Eberle and Jared McCann earning four each in the last four games.

Flyers players to watch: Joel Farabee , who has one goal, isn't afraid to throw a few punches in defense of his teammates. Winger Owen Tippett , a high scorer, netted 28 goals last season. Rookie Matvei Michkov leads with two goals and one power-play assist.

Kraken players to watch: Newly named team captain Jordan Eberle leads the Kraken with three goals and four points, scoring in both away games against the Wild and the Predators. Eberle netted two goals, including his 300th, and helped the Kraken secure a 5-4 victory over the Wild in a shootout on Saturday night.

Jared McCann has four points this season, including one goal and one assist in both away games against the Wild and Predators.

Tye Kartye scored his first NHL goal on Saturday night against the Wild and the left winger has been a consistent presence in the starting lineup since the start of the regular season. His speed and aggressive defensive maneuvers are impressive for a rookie, and he isn’t afraid to follow through on breakaways.

Jamie Oleksiak played his 600th NHL game this week. The 6'7 defenseman earned two points for his assists in Tuesday's game in Nashville.
