Could We Finally Be Getting A ‘Twitches 3’? Tamera Mowry-Housley Confirms There’s “Interest”

Before she became a full-fledged Hallmark star, Tamera Mowry-Housley was a Disney Channel darling alongside her twin sister, Tia Mowry. And she may be willing to return to her roots.

Decider caught up with the Scouting for Christmas star at Hallmark’s recent Countdown to Christmas Jingle Stop Bus Tour where she confirmed Disney told her that there is “interest” in a Twitches 3 .

She is, of course, talking about the 2005 fantasy she starred in opposite her sister. Featuring a similar premise to their hit 1994 sitcom Sister, Sister , Twitches followed twin sisters separated at birth who learn they have magical powers when they reunite on their 21st birthday. But with this revelation comes the responsibility to save their magical home of Coventry, where their birth mother still lives.

The 2005 film and its 2007 sequel have become a notable part of the actresses’ filmography, leaving fans hungry for more. And both actresses have confirmed they’re willing to reprise their roles if the opportunity presented itself.

Tia teased that she may be open to returning to the series during a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show . “I don’t know, but never say never,” she said.

Tamera already has a couple of ideas for what a new installment could look like.

The Haunted Harmony Mysteries actress told People in 2020 that she would be interested in casting another pair of celebrity twins to join herself and her sister: Chloe and Halle Bailey . “I would love it,” she said. “I love those girls. I think that would be sick.”

She added that she and her sister are certainly interested in returning to the series – as long as Disney will have them.

“I mean, it’s not that my sister and I don’t want to do it,” she said, noting that she and her sister are “very busy” at this point in their careers. “I think creatively it has to make sense.”

“All we need is Disney to be down,” she adds. “It could be a fun Disney+ kind of movie. I think that would be dope.”
