Bruce Cymanski Found Guilty In Nancy Noga Cold Case Murder

A Middlesex County Jury has found Bruce A. Cymanski guilty in the 1999 murder of Sayreville's Nancy Noga, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Sayreville Police Chief Daniel Plumacker said.

Nancy was a senior in high school when she was reported missing on Jan. 7, 1999. Five days later, her body was found in a wooded area behind a strip mall on Ernston Road. An autopsy later determined Noga died from blunt force trauma after being struck with a blunt object.

In August 2021, Cymanski was arrested at home in Barnegat following a short foot pursuit, Daily Voice reported at the time.

A trial in the case began Oct. 1, 2024. Assistant Prosecutor Katie Magee, who serves as the section chief of the Major Crimes Unit, along with Assistant Prosecutors Alexander Battey and Nicolette Spallanzani, presented evidence and testimony to a jury.

Cymanski was found guilty of first-degree murder, first-degree felony murder, first-degree aggravated sexual assault, first-degree kidnapping, and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Cymanski is scheduled to be sentenced before Superior Court Judge Joseph Paone on Jan. 6, 2025.
