The Beacons' defense had its hands full with the force of USM's offense. Senior midfielder Julia McKenna tallied the first goal in the 11th minute and the third in the 40th minute to bring her season totals to nine, the team's second-leading goal scorer.</li><li>The Huskies would put up four unanswered in the first half. Beacons' first-year forward Sofia Schallmo would net the team's only to open the second half. 15 minutes into the half, sophomore midfielder Amanda Reagan (Pepperell, Mass.) provided Schallmo on her 13th goal of the season, a conference-high.</li></ul>By the Numbers<ul><li>UMass Boston tallied six shots on goal, led by Schallmo with three. Reagan supplied the only assist for the Beacs. Junior keeper Julia Cote (Baldwinville, Mass.) played the first half and registered six saves, followed by senior Isabella O'Connell (Abington, Mass.), who took the reins in the second half and registered four saves. Cote is credited with her first loss of the season following 10 games prior.</li></ul><ul><li>The Beacons return to the James Cotter Field in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday, October 19, against Little East Conference Opponents, the Wolves of Western Connecticut State University at 12:00 noon for the Beacons' Appendix Cancer Awareness game.
