Kamala Harris sees Sinwar killing as chance to end Gaza war

US Vice President Kamala Harris sees the killing of Hamas leader Yehya al-Sinwar as an opportunity to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

"This moment gives us an opportunity to finally end the war in Gaza, and it must end such that Israel is secure. The hostages are released. The suffering in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can realize their right to dignity, security, freedom and self determination," she said in a statement released by her office.

US President Joe Biden had previously made similar remarks. However, compared to Biden, Harris went into more detail about the Palestinian situation.
