Frost Advisory for parts of West Virginia, Ohio and Pennslyvania on Thursday night

After gloomy conditions much of the week sunshine took hold throughout the day on Thursday as pleasant weather returned to the viewing area. Those pleasant conditions will lead to clear skies overnight & light winds. With cool air already in place those factors mean we have the threat for widespread frost in the Tri-State area.

Frost Advisories will go into effect across the entire viewing area overnight and last until 9:00 A.M. Friday morning. That means it’s time to bring in sensitive plants or cover them with a light cloth or sheet (never use plastic) if you want to extend the growing season.

More frost will be possible on Saturday morning but after that, we’ll get a break from these cool nights. Very soon highs will be getting back into the 70s which means nighttime lows won’t be quite as chilly.
