Strong Cold Front Brings Gusty Winds, Freezing Temperatures to Southern Nevada

The U.S. National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Freeze Warning and Wind Advisory as a strong cold front moves through the region tonight. The cold front will bring gusty winds and significantly cooler temperatures, with parts of south-central Nevada expected to experience their first freeze of the season tonight into Friday morning, or by Saturday morning at the latest.

Winds from the southwest are expected to shift to the northwest tonight, with gusts reaching 45 to 50 mph, particularly in mountainous areas. The Wind Advisory remains in effect through Friday night.

Residents are urged to bring in any outdoor Halloween decorations to prevent damage from the high winds, and to prepare for the colder conditions in the coming days.
