Liam Payne’s Girlfriend Kate Cassidy’s Dad Reveals She Is ‘Grieving’ After Singer’s Death

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy is “grieving” afterthe singer’s sudden death on Wednesday, October 16.

Kate’s father gave an update on his daughter to a New York Post reporter outside of his home on Thursday, October 16. “She’s grieving. I’ve been up all night,” he told the outlet, later noting, “Kaitlin’s not even here. She’s down in Florida.”

Liam died on October 16 after falling off his third-story hotel balcony in Argentina. He was 31 years old. Kate, 25, who had been dating Liam off-again, on-again since 2022, was recently with the One Direction alum in South America, but “was so ready to leave” following her two-week stay.

“I was just like, I need to go home,” Kate said in the Monday, October 14, video, alongside clips of her travel back to Miami. “Soooo happpii to b back in sunshine state.”

Fans were shocked to hear the news of Liam’s death after he “jumped” from his bedroom’s balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

On Thursday, October 17, In Touch confirmed that Liam died from “very serious injuries” and a fractured skull. The “What Makes You Beautiful” singer was pronounced dead on the scene after he experienced “internal and external hemorrhaging,” according to officials.

Kate has yet to break her silence on Liam’s death. However, the musician’s family and celebrity friends paid tribute to their lost collaborator.

Harry Styles’ mother, Anne Twist, beat the One Direction bandmates shared her public condolences by posting a heartbreak emoji via Instagram in the early morning of October 17.

“Just a boy …” she captioned the post.

Louis Tomlinson was the first 1D star to break his silence later that day by sharing a throwback photo with Liam on stage.

“I am beyond devastated to be writing this but yesterday I lost a brother. Liam was somebody I looked up to everyday, such a positive, funny, and kind soul,” he began the lengthy Instagram caption.

The Billboard winner, 32, later added, “I want you to know that if Bear ever needs me I will be the Uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories of how amazing his dad was. I wish I got chance to say goodbye and tell you one more time how much I loved you.”

Zayn Malik shared his own post minutes later, confessing his true feelings toward his late bandmate.

“When it came to the music Liam, you were the most qualified in every sense. I knew nothing in comparison I was a novice child with no experience and you were already a professional,” Zayn, 31, wrote in the Instagram caption. “I was always happy to know, no matter what happened on stage we could always rely on you to know which way to steer the ship next.”

Zayn later confessed how much he’d give for one last hug and to “properly” say goodbye.

“… I loved and respected you dearly. I will cherish all the memories I have with you in my heart forever, there is no words that justify or explain how I feel right now other than beyond devastated,” he continued. “I hope that wherever you are right now you are good and are at peace and you know how loved you are.”
