Maxx Crosby's Latest Comments Lead to Major Trade Speculation

This may feel like Déjà vu all too soon for Las Vegas Raiders fans, but the team finds themselves at the center of trade talks again on Thursday.

The ink from the Davante Adams trade to the New York Jets is still drying, but comments made by two-time All-Pro pass rusher Maxx Crosby have led to some thinking the Raiders aren't done being sellers just yet.

When speaking to the media earlier this week, Crosby expressed his desire to win now. Something that simply isn't happening with the 2-4 Raiders, who appear to be a year away from being a year away. When discussing his desire to win now, Crosby also made a comment that is turning heads and leading to speculation that he wants out.

“I’m not here to rebuild. I’m here to win,” Crosby said via Crunch Time Sports . “I don’t know, whatever that means, but yeah, I’m here to win now. Wherever I’m gonna be… I’m gonna be here to win. So, that’s all that matters to me.”

This is where things get awkward, as Raiders owner Mark Davis has already expressed the team has no interest in trading Crosby. On top of that, NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that it would take multiple firsts to get conversations going.

So, clearly, Crosby and the Raiders will be having some interesting conversations behind closed doors as the Raiders are certainly in rebuild mode. However, Crosby did just sign a four-year $94 million extension in 2022, which means he's technically under contract through 2026.

The three-time Pro Bowler, who had a career-high 14.5 sacks in 2023, has gone on record before saying he wanted to be a Raider for life. So, his recent comments could have been a slip-up, or a sign of things to come.

Many have circled the Detroit Lions as a possible landing spot for him after the injury to Aidan Hutchinson.
