A sixth grader from New Hyde Park is hoping to help lower the number of children killed in house fires. Luke Tamhan is part of a new safety campaign using a song to remind children to get out of a house when they hear a smoke detector go off. Five years ago, a fire broke out at his house. A smoke detector saved his family's life. Tamhan says the song has a great message. "It teaches you to get out of there," Tamhan says. "Don't dilly dally and don't leave any people behind." The PSA was started by Kidde, a company that makes fire safety products. "
