    Police respond to shooting reported in Saratoga Springs, suspect in custody

    SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (ABC4) — Police in Saratoga Springs responded to a shooting that reportedly stemmed from a traffic stop.

    Saratoga Springs police tell ABC4.com that a traffic stop took place near Harvest Hills Blvd. and Redwood Road that involved the suspect Santiago Rodarte. Police said that he was not cooperative during the stop.

    That is when shots were fired, police say that it is not clear who shot first.

    Rodarte took off down Harvest Hill Blvd. and onto Redwood Road. He then fled the vehicle on Redwood Road into a canal. A woman was in the car with him and she was detained for questioning.

    Rodarte was taken into custody for unknown injuries and transported to an area hospital to be treated.

    Orem Police are currently investigating the incident.
