The Los Angeles Rams are back in action this week, preparing to host the Las Vegas Raiders at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. However, Matthew Stafford and the rest of the Rams did have some extra time off while the Rams were on a bye in Week 6.
Stafford spent part of his time in the FOX Sports studio in a different type of uniform. Instead of wearing No. 9 on his jersey, Stafford was in a full suit, providing his expertise as an NFL analyst. As expected, the 36-year-old did a good job, causing some to wonder if the former Super Bowl winner would trade in his helmet for a microphone.
No, Matthew Stafford won’t be ditching Los Angeles Rams for TV
As much as it may look like Matthew Stafford has a future in TV broadcasting, it doesn’t sound like he wants to stop quarterbacking the Los Angeles Rams any time soon. Yet, Stafford did appreciate his opportunity to play a different role on Sundays.
While Stafford didn’t want to spend too much time entertaining the idea of becoming an NFL analyst when asked by reporters, he sang a bit of a different tune on his wife’s podcast . Here was his response if he’d consider a future in broadcasting, once his playing career comes to an end.
Like many other former players before him, Stafford does seem like he could make a smooth and successful transition into talking about football instead of playing it. However, he’s still one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks, so it’s easy to see why he’s not thinking about retirement quite yet.
