Michigan football is heading into Week 8 of college football action with a 4-2 record and its goals of winning the Big Ten and making the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff still alive, however remote they may seem.

The Wolverines dropped a 27-17 decision to Washington football two Saturdays ago in Seattle, Washington that highlighted key areas of concern including a lack of experience for current starting quarterback Jack Tuttle, who has been recovering from injury troubles.

On Thursday, coach Moore and the Wolverines received good news on the recruiting trail as they hauled in a pledge from Class of 2026 wide receiver Jaylen Pile of Dallas, Texas.

Pile's offer list reads like a 'Who's Who' of college football programs with traditional powers like Penn State, Oregon, Notre Dame and Auburn among those who offered the 6-foot, 178 pound prospect, who is ranked as a three-star by On3.com and a four-star by Rivals.com.

"Yes Sir! Big Time get from Down South!" coach Moore wrote on his official X account on Thursday following the news in a tweet that was viewed almost 40,000 times as of Thursday evening.

Michigan's 2026 class now ranks fourth in the Big Ten and 11th nationally according to On3.com, with a commitment from four-star quarterback Brady Hart the centerpiece of the class so far.

"Keep up the great work coach," one reader wrote in response.

"Fire Wink," another reader wrote about Michigan's embattled defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.

"Let's get one from Belleville Coach," another reader wrote in reference to Class of 2025 prospect Bryce Underwood, the quarterback who pledged to Brian Kelly's LSU Tigers and is ranked as the number one overall player in his class.
