That’s the kind of response you’d hope for after an ugly performance just four days prior. Denver’s defense was suffocating against Spencer Rattle and the Saints offense. That defense, even when being ‘blown out’, just doesn’t give up points. Vance Joseph has that unit jelling. While Bo Nix and that offense is still leaving a lot of points on the board, one can’t complain with the results here. However, against a good football team those field goals need to start turning into more touchdowns in these games. Even so, at 4-3, the Broncos are prime to have a chance to go two games above .500 with a home win over the Carolina Panthers if they can follow through and take care of business against another bad football team. <h2>First Quarter</h2>The Broncos offense came out looking like wanted to play ball. The opening drive should have resulted in a touchdown, but Bo Nix seemed to be overly amped to start the game. His footwork was absolutely horrific. Fortunately, he would settle down for the next drive and led the team to a field goal drive. Broncos 3, Saints 0. Read full first quarter recap.<h2>Second Quarter</h2>Adding to that early second quarter field goal, the Broncos rushing attack asserted itself fully in the second quarter. After giving up a field goal drive to the Saints, the Broncos would get the ball back again with just under two minutes to go in the first half and just one timeout. Read full second quarter recap.<h2>Third Quarter</h2>Once the third quarter began, the Broncos defense absolutely clamped down forcing three-and-outs early. While the Saints defense was absolutely listless. The Broncos offense looked elite running the ball and passing the ball. Read full third quarter recap.<h2>Fourth Quarter</h2>With the game all but won after three quarters, the Broncos defense unleashed their pass rushers and the Broncos offense ground up as many yards as they could on the ground to bank the road win. The biggest reason Denver earned this blowout win was due to their rushing attack. Up by 30 points, the Broncos defense softened up finally and let the Saints third-string quarterback drove them down the field got a late score finally getting a touchdown with just over a minute to go in the game.
