Four-car crash sends three to hospital

A four-car crash on Mooresville Road Wednesday evening, Oct. 16, caused three people to go to an area hospital for evaluation, according to fire officials.

The crash, which happened just after 6:30 p.m., involved three cars heading west and one car heading east near the entrance to Glen Heather. The Locke Township Fire Department said all injuries were minor and one driver declined any treatment. Traffic was moving slowly at the time because of a turning vehicle. One car, an SUV, did flip over because after being hit, it went into a ditch, causing it to turn over. The road was closed for a short time in order to care for all occupants and to clear the scene. The crash remains under investigation by N.C. State Highway Patrol.
