Clemson vs Virginia Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines

The Clemson machine keeps rolling on.
It's more about the mediocre schedule than the greatness of the Tigers - this is hardly a comparable team to the powerhouses of recent past - but no one is coming close. Five straight games, five straight double-digit wins since the loss to Virginia.
Virginia is off to a strong 4-2 start, and at the very least it was competitive in the 24-20 loss to Louisville. It's still in the ACC hunt, but that's going to take a push.
The realistic goal is a bowl game, and that might take some work. This is the start of a run of three road games in four, including dates at Pitt and Notre Dame.
There's a shot the Cavaliers are the underdog the rest of the way.

Why Clemson Will Win
The Tigers are owning the lines.
This hasn't been too complicated. With the Clemson backfield getting time to operate, big things are happening. With the defensive front stopping the run, everyone is stalling.
Virginia has the lines to hold up against the Tigers better than Wake Forest and - stunningly - NC State did, but it hasn't faced a run defense like this.
Clemson can't get freaked out in any way if it doesn't get up fast, but ...
Clemson vs Virginia: Who Will Win
As long as the Tigers don't screw up, they'll be fine.
They've only turned the ball over three times all season and just once in the last four games.
Virginia will force a few mistakes - expect the Cavs to be +2 in turnover margin - but it won't be enough. The Tiger D will lock down in the second half.
