We’ve got good news and bad news for Project Runway fans. The good news is that the show is coming back for another season in 2025. The bad news is that once again, it’s leaving Bravo. This time, it’s going to Freeform, and we’ve got all of the details about the future of the show.

According to a report from Deadline , Disney made a deal with SpyGlass Media Group to greenlight Season 21 for a 10-episode season on Freeform. There’s no exact premiere date, but they confirmed it would be coming sometime next year.

Of course, some of us still call the Freeform network “ABC Family” and only tune in for their 31 Nights of Halloween. Whatever you want to call it, they’ve been in a pursuit to enter the unscripted space . Their previous attempts this year have included a show following ex-pats in Grand Cayman and a family show centered around Wayne Brady . Acquiring a well-established show like Project Runway seems like a wise next phase of their strategy.

“Project Runway is an iconic television juggernaut that perfectly complements the pop-culture spirit at Freeform,” said Simran Sethi, the president of scripted programming, Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment.

“We are excited to welcome the original series to the Disney family and reignite the fanbase alongside Spyglass and Alfred Street, giving viewers the chance to once again share in discovering the next generation of exceptionally talented fashion designers,” he continued.

This is the second time that Project Runway has exited Bravo’s programming slate. Bravo debuted the first five seasons and then sold the show to The Weinstein Company. They aired the show for 11 seasons on Lifetime, earning Emmy nominations and evolving into an iconic competition reality show.

In 2018 when Harvey Weinstein was exposed as a sexual predator, The Weinstein Company went under and the rights to Project Runway went up for grabs. Later that year at the NBCUniversal Upfronts, Andy Cohen came out on stage and triumphantly announced that the show would be coming back to its home on Bravo.

Project Runway’s return to Bravo also coincided with Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn exiting the show. It signaled a new era, and they capped things off with an all-stars edition for Season 20. After that, Bravo quietly canceled the show and the rights went up for grabs once again.

Stay tuned for more updates on the future of Project Runway now that Disney and Freeform have taken the reigns. If history repeats itself, we might be in store for another shakeup at the judge’s panel.
