Ford Is Bringing Back The Cheap n' Cheerful Base Bronco

When the sixth-generation Ford Bronco debuted, you could order one for just a hair under $30,000 (or try at least). A few years, pricing, and trim changes later, the cheapest Ford Bronco is the Big Bend trim, at $41,525. It’s a big, fat price increase over the base model, but a leaked dealer order guide posted to a Ford Bronco Facebook group indicated the Blue Oval may revive the SUV’s base trim in 2025.

It’d be a welcome relief, seeing as Ford has extracted quite a lot of money from the ever-popular SUV thanks to trim changes, special editions, and high-end models like the Bronco Raptor. There’s a little bit of a catch, though. It’s not clear how much the new base trim will cost, though the order guide does say the model will start with the SUV’s 7-speed manual and 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. We don’t know if the bigger V6 and 10-speed will be optional, but it's hard to imagine they won’t be, as Ford sold them optionally before axing the trim.

Powertrains aside, the guide indicates that the new(ish) base model will be available with the Sasquatch package, allowing owners of the stripped-down Bronco access to all the off-road goodies. This includes the SUV’s 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler tires, upgraded suspension, a 4.7 final drive ratio, and front and rear lockers.

There’s also a choice of beadlock-capable wheels with the package. The guide covers other 2025 model year changes, like the new Stroppe Edition trim, the Free Wheeling package for Big Bend trims, and new paint choices (Desert Sand, Marsh Gray, and Ruby Red Metallic).
