The Week 8 edition of ESPN's "College GameDay" is shaping up to be one of the best yet, as the crew heads to Austin, Texas, for a highly anticipated clash between the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 1 Texas Longhorns .

Lee Corso , the iconic 89-year-old fixture of the show, has been under the weather for the past two weeks, which kept him away from the broadcast. However, there's promising news as we approach Week 8.

On Friday, ESPN released its weekly press release detailing the crew, events, and special guests for the upcoming show. Notably, Corso, who typically makes every appearance with his famous headgear picks, was absent for the previous two weeks from the preview.

This week, he is expected to make his triumphant return, with plans for his 419th career headgear pick — and he’s currently a perfect 5-0 this season. This is exciting news for both “College GameDay” and Corso’s fans. For more details, check out ESPN's full Week 8 press release .

This Week 8 edition of “College GameDay” holds special significance for Corso, according to ESPN. He has a rich history with both Georgia and Texas.

This will be the 10th time Texas has hosted "College GameDay" on their campus and the 24th overall appearance for the Longhorns. Corso boasts a 9-6 record in the 15 times he's picked Texas as the winner, while he stands at 8-5 in the 13 times he's chosen Georgia.

It's a nearly even matchup from a headgear perspective. He is an impressive 7-0 dating back to last season, having correctly picked every game. With his return in Week 8, he'll be rejoining Desmond Howard , Rece Davis , Pat McAfee , Nick Saban , and Kirk Herbstreit , making for a highly anticipated matchup.
