Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Independent Health is cutting 66 jobs in a cost saving measure. Buffalo Business First reports the health plan ended 2023 with a $193 million deficit. That's the company's biggest loss in more than a decade. Rates will be increased for customers in 2025. 1,600 people work for Independent Health.

UB's School of Dental Medicine will hold its 9th annual Dentistry Smiles on Veterans Program on Saturday, November 2nd at the UB Dental Clinic on UB's South Campus. Military veterans will be able to get free dental care, including cleanings, repairs and extractions, as well as other services.

Askana Beauty, a new salon offering skin, nail and hair care, is hosting a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony tomorrow at 979 Union Road in West Seneca. The salon is open from noon to 7.
