    Major Drug Arrests Made by Jones County Sheriff's Department

    The narcotics agents with Jones County Sheriff's Department have made major drug arrests this week. On Tuesday and Wednesday, October 15th and 16th, multiple arrests were made for illegal narcotics.

    According to Darkhorse Press, illegal firearms were recovered, along with significant amounts of ecstacy, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

    On Tuesday, a search warrant was conducted by narcotics agents at a residence on Shiloh Church Road. In the raid that occured, two men were arrested.

    John Cooley, age 21, was in possession of sixty grams of methamphetamine. In addition, Cooley had oustanding warrants with Ellisville Police Department. He was charged with trafficking of methamphetamine.

    Justin Gross, age 33, was in possession of 84 grams of methamphetamine, as well as 421 ecstacy tablets. He was charged with trafficking of methamphetamine and trafficking of ecstacy while in possession of a firearm. A sawed-off .410 shotgun, a .22 caliber pistol, and an illegal firearms suppressor were also seized from the residence.

    According to Darkhorse Press, on Wednesday, during a traffic stop, deputies with Jones County Sheriff's Department made another arrest.

    Joe Evans, age 48, was in possession of 25 grams of fentanyl mixed with heroin. The narcotics were worth an estimated street value of $5,000. Narcotics agents stated that the quantity of the mixture was enough to kill 200 people.

    Jones County Sheriff Berlin is committed to cleaning up the drug activity in Jones County. Berlin stated, "We are committed to making it very difficult for illegal narcotics dealers to do business here. They better sleep with one eye open because you never know when we are going to come knocking with a search warrant in hand."
