A Plumas County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher, Cassandra Beth Lavley, has been convicted of felony embezzlement after misappropriating more than $20,000 from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Employee’s Association. Lavley, 39, pleaded no contest to one count of felony embezzlement on October 11, and now faces up to three years in state prison. Two additional charges of embezzlement and falsifying financial records were dismissed, though they are factored into the over $25,592.76 restitution Lavley has been ordered to pay.
