ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – A 41-year-old Mexico resident, Jonathan Medina-Flores, has been sentenced to 40 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to illegal reentry into the United States. This marks the latest in a series of reentries following multiple deportations.

According to court documents, Medina-Flores was first convicted of felony cocaine possession in St. Joseph County in 2006. He was subsequently deported to Mexico in 2007, and again in 2014 and 2015. Despite these removals, Medina-Flores unlawfully reentered the U.S. each time.

In May 2023, authorities found him residing once again in St. Joseph County, leading to his arrest and latest conviction. Medina-Flores’s repeated illegal reentries highlight the challenges of immigration enforcement and the legal consequences faced by those who violate reentry laws.
