<div>Frozen River Film Festival (FRFF) presents a selection of culturally rich, inspiring, and entertaining documentary films curated from past festival events. The screening will take place on October 19, 2024, at the Winona Arts Center with a set of short films especially curated for Winona audiences.Winona’s Frozen River Film Festival has been sharing incredible documentary films with the community since 2006.Included in the Saturday shorts set is “Stranger at the Gate,” which won the Best of Fest award for short film at the 2023 festival. The film, directed by Joshua Seftel, tells the true story of U.S. Marine Richard McKinney who plotted to blow up the Islamic Center in his hometown of Muncie, Ind. Upon entering the mosque, he came face to face with people he intended to kill and was transformed by their kindness and acceptance. Also included in the set are “Eco-Hack,” about an unconventional field biologist who uses high-tech equipment to try to save a tortoise from extinction, and “The Love Bugs,” a fan favorite about “the love of nature and the nature of love.”The full set of films will run approximately 90 minutes.The evening kicks off on Saturday, October 19, at 7 p.m. with doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at frff.eventive.org. Tickets will also be available the day of the event at the Winona Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. The cost for each show is $10 per adult, $8 for FRFF members, and free for children and students.</div>
