Miami, FL - South Florida Rap legend Uncle Luke has regained ownership of the music catalog he created as a member of the iconic hip-hop group 2 Live Crew.

The decision, handed down by a federal court on Wednesday, marks a significant milestone for the artist after decades of legal battles.

Uncle Luke, whose legal name is Luther Campbell, lost control of the music catalog during a bankruptcy proceeding in the 1990s.

The copyright reverted to the creator after 35 years, and Campbell filed a lawsuit against the label that had acquired the rights to the catalog.

Campbell expressed his relief and gratitude for the court's decision, emphasizing the importance of artists being compensated for their work.

He also acknowledged the significant impact the music had on his children and the children of his late bandmates, Brother Marquis and Fresh Kid Ice.

The case has drawn attention to the ongoing legal challenges faced by artists in the music industry.

The jury's verdict in Campbell's favor sends a message that creators have the power to reclaim their work even after years of separation.
