Orlando, FL - According to the latest state-to-state migration figures released from the U.S. Census Bureau on Thursday, over 1 million people moving to Florida in 2023.

This marks the second consecutive year of significant population growth, though it falls slightly short of the record-breaking 1.2 million new residents in 2022.

The influx of new residents stems from both domestic and international migration.

Over 940,000 people moved to Florida from other states, while nearly 290,000 migrants arrived from foreign countries.

New York saw the largest number of domestic migrants to Florida, followed by Georgia and California.

Florida's population has been on a steady upward trajectory for decades, but it experienced an exponential surge beginning in 2016.

This year, the state's population surpassed 23 million for the first time ever.

The state's population growth is expected to persist in the coming years.

Florida is projected to see well over 300,000 new residents annually through 2026, averaging nearly 900 people per day.

By 2027, the population is expected to reach 24 million, followed by 25 million in 2031 and 26 million in 2036.

This massive influx of people is poised to bolster Florida's GDP and job growth.

The state continues to outperform the rest of the country due to its robust labor market and population growth.

the article is talking about 2022 and 2023, when FL was booming after pandemic, but now Florida in 2024 is facing a sharp decline and more people are leaving based on numerous factors like weather, insurance, Condo HOA fees, interest rates...etc
