The Denver Broncos won big time over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, in a game that I'm sure Sean Payton was more than happy to win. Did the Saints have an enormous amount of injuries? Yes, but that didn't stop the Broncos from keeping their foot on the gas.

In this game, it was primarily the defense. They scored, they had several turnovers, and Cody Barton was the man of the show, doing something every time you blink it seemed like he had the ball in his hands as a linebacker.

But the offense, they showed up, exactly when you didn't think they would just because of what we have seen the last few games. They were good against the Las Vegas Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but you could say they were very poor against the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers.

This time, it was the run game, and Bo Nix finally got comfortable. Javonte Williams had what seemed to be the game of his life at the perfect time , and Nix, while he made some costly errors at times, got his stuff together and started to orchestrate the offense well.

But, there is one thing that keeps standing out to the fans, and, after what Sean Payton said after the game, fans are now scratching their heads.

“I had made this comment earlier when we drafted him," Payton said after the game. "When you watch him play, you don’t feel like you are in harm’s way. He is tough to sack. He has a good ball location. He makes a lot of plays with his feet. He has some big play opportunities. There is the confidence that you get as a play-caller that allows you to be more aggressive. We wanted to come out tonight in that mindset.”

The harm's way comment is a little odd, especially considering he has five interceptions this season. And let's not forget what happened the first few drives, where he missed maybe three wide-open receivers in crucial situations. I wouldn't say he is there yet, where you are comfortable that he isn't going to hurt your team, and I don't think the fan base feels that way either.

But, Nix played one of his better games this year, and his legs are truly a factor, more than most people thought they would be.
