I just felt like it was time to be a dad a bit more.”McAlpin interned with the Philadelphia Phillies while attending Temple University and worked within the organization for six years. He worked at WBCB Levittown, PA (1490) – which is co-owned by Philadelphia Eagles radio play-by-play announcer Merrill Reese – and at Beasley Media Group sports WPEN (950), before its move to FM as “97.5 The Fanatic.” He joined the Braves Radio Network in 2012 and moved into the pregame and postgame hosting role in 2020.Braves games are carried on Dickey Broadcasting sports “The Fan” WCNN Atlanta (680), which is simulcast on the city-licensed FM translator W229AG at 93.7. The Braves Radio Network is carried on more than 170 radio stations.“I’m going to miss the people that I shared a press box with every year,” McAlpin told the paper. “Opening day next year will feel weird.
