The program focuses on teaching students important character traits and social-emotional skills, aiming to support their overall development.Additionally, Sperry noted that second through sixth grade students are working diligently to meet their first-quarter reading goals ahead of the quarter’s end on October 18th. This push reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to improving literacy rates.As part of student safety education, Sergeant Shane Hux from the Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted a seat belt safety presentation with elementary students on September 26th. This presentation emphasized the importance of wearing seat belts and other safety measures.In a more seasonal activity, preschool through third grade students took a field trip to Gospel Farms Pumpkin Patch on October 10th, providing them with an engaging outdoor learning experience.Sperry also reported that the Northwest Regional Professional Development Center has been working closely with Gilman City teachers to refine their curriculum. The center conducted an in-service meeting on September 23rd and will return on October 17th to assess the school’s progress. This continued collaboration is expected to benefit the teaching strategies and student learning outcomes.On October 21st, kindergarten through third grade teachers will attend a Reading Success Plan workshop to strengthen their instructional skills. Following that, these teachers will meet with parents of Reading Success Plan students during parent-teacher conferences on October 24th.The school will dismiss early on October 18th to allow teachers time to complete first-quarter report cards. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for October 24th, running from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.High School Principal Brent Mitchell also provided updates, mentioning that juniors have taken the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to take the ACT on October 29th.FFA students have been actively involved in fall contests and are preparing for the upcoming national convention. The annual FFA Barnwarming event is scheduled for October 19th.In another development, the Harrison County clerk visited the Gilman City School to register seniors to vote, encouraging civic participation among students.Mitchell also shared updates related to the school’s athletic programs, rounding out a comprehensive report of school activities.</div></body>
