The Besties Are Back! ‘1000-Lb. Best Friends’ Returns for Season 3: Premiere, Cast, Details

The besties are back! Vannessa Cross, Ashely Sutton and Meghan Crumpler are set to make their big return to TLC in season 3 of their show, 1000-Lb. Best Friends. The women, who once had a combined weight of 1,000 pounds, are returning to the screen healthier than ever, continuing their journey of self-improvement and focusing on being the best versions of themselves.

Fans watched during season 2 as Vannessa was approved for skin removal surgery after losing more than one hundred pounds and this time around, she has her eyes set on making even more improvements. However, there is trouble in paradise between the best friends as “a growing rift” is set to threaten their more than 30-year friendship.

“Meghan and Ashely feel that Vannessa’s continued celebration of her weight loss has turned into gloating, while Vannessa believes her friends are jealous of her success,” the press release teased. “What seems like irreconcilable differences are brought to light in Dr. Procter’s bariatric support group. Here, some of his patients quickly find themselves caught up in the middle of their messy relationships.”

TLC viewers have seen many extreme weight loss programs, but few have matched the success of 1000-Lb. Sisters, featuring Tammy and Amy Slaton. Building on that popularity, the network decided to take a chance on 1000-Lb. Best Friends, following a group of women as they navigate their weight loss journeys, filled with both triumphs and challenges.

What Happened in the ‘1000-Lb. Best Friends’ Season 3 Trailer?

In the trailer for season 3, Ashely and Meghan admit for the “last several months” they’ve been hanging out, purposely not including Vannessa.

“You know Vannessa, I don’t feel like she’s going to let it go and be cool,” Ashely told Meghan, before the clip cut to a tense meetup between the trio, with Vannessa confronting them, asking, “What did I do? That’s what I wanna know.”

“Had it not been for me, you wouldn’t even be here,” Meghan said as she put her finger to Vannessa’s face.

“You’re full of s–t. I didn’t do you wrong and you f–king know it,” Vannessa yelled before she angrily walked away from the table. In a private confessional, she told producers, “My best friends of over 30 years exiled me for losing weight?”

The new season will also feature new friends Scott and Tina, who have their own weight loss problems to share with viewers.

“I’m hoping to have my surgery in a couple weeks, when I told people that I was considering bariatric surgery, they go, ‘What’s wrong? You can’t just put the food down?’” Tina explained. Meanwhile, Scott is on his own weight loss journey, but seemingly can’t stick to his food goals.

The trailer ends with a tense blowup between Vannessa and Meghan, with Vannessa telling her friend “not to get mad at her” as she doesn’t “know what the f–k” she’s talking about.

“Her saying these hurtful, harmful things to me, s–t is going to hit the fan,” Meghan clapped back to producers.
