Tully Blanchard Reveals Why AEW Fired Him

Tully Blanchard departed AEW two years ago, which surprised many fans at the time because he was the leader of “Tully Blanchard Enterprises,” a faction consisting of Toa Liona, Kaun, and Brian Cage. And now it has been confirmed by Blanchard himself during his podcast that, as many suspected, he was fired for no showing an event.

“I got on TV for a while. Was on with some very great talent and was thrilled to do that, and then, you miss a show, you get fired.”

70-year-old Blanchard came out of retirement following a 14-year hiatus while he was a part of AEW in 2021, teaming with FTR, who he managed against Jurassic Express. And while it appeared his partnership with FTR would guarantee him many more years in the spotlight, he would end up fired in kayfabe and instead became part of the ROH roster up until his release. Still, given he is currently employed as a Prison Minister, he seemingly has enough going on to keep himself busy during his twilight years.
