The question all the ladies want the answer to. Today, Riley Green released his third studio album Don't Mind If I Do , which is full of great country music and that classic, neotraditional sound that he's always done so well. And he stopped by to chat with Kelleigh Bannen on Today's Country Radio , where she of course asked him about his viral hit with Ella Langley "you look like you love me," and all of the rumors that have spurred up because of it. Ella has previously denied that they were anything more than friends and singing partners, and Riley explained that regardless of who the rumors are about in terms of his dating life, he likes to keep it private and leave it up to the imagination for fans:
"Well, I mean all the duets that I really loved growing up, you always kind of wondered, is there something going on or whatever? And I think as a fan you kind of like that story ... You like for stuff to be true… When you hear a song, it's a love song. And that's what made George [Jones] and Tammy [Wynette] so big I think, is that all their songs were so about what was really going on. And then when they split, George is still writing these lovesick heartbreak songs. So for me and Ella to have two songs we do that are doing that much, I'm sure there's a lot of rumors and speculation, but it's cool, man. It's cool to see people react and have emotion to something that you write, more than anything that's what's enjoyable about it." It's no secret that the ladies love Riley, for obvious reasons aside from his music, and there always seems to be some sort of chatter online about who he's with, so I think it's smart for him to use that to his advantage in some way. Obviously, he's had an incredible amount of success with the aforementioned duet, which is still everywhere on TikTok, and he credits the social media app for helping him reach a younger demographic:
"'You Look Like You Love Me' was a TikTok kind of success. I've never had that before, so I haven't really changed anything I'm doing, other than I'm experiencing success in places I never really had it before. And I think that's a kind of a tough thing to do when you've been writing songs as long as I have, to keep doing what you're doing, but appeal to a younger demographic that's finding music in different ways." Of course, we all have opinions about the app and whether it's ultimately a "good thing" for music, but there's no denying that it's been great for music discovery in terms of artists being able to reach fans they probably never would have otherwise. Plus, the strategy seems to have worked for him thus far, so don't expect to be privy to more detail or info on who he's dating anytime soon. And there's so much great music on his new record, so definitely do yourself a favor and give it a spin today... I'll leave a few of my favorites below.
