George Pickens Accidentally Reveals Steelers Starting Quarterback

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens might have accidentally spilled the beans on who will start at quarterback for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

The Steelers have been deciding between veteran Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Wilson has spent the last six weeks recovering from a calf injury, opening the door for Fields to start. The former first-round pick went 4-2 as the starter.

Head coach Mike Tomlin said on Friday that the team had made their decision but would keep it "in-house."

“I’m just going to keep that in-house,” Tomlin said . “I thought [Wilson] was sharp. I thought Justin was sharp as well. I thought we had a highly productive week from both guys and from the unit as a whole.”

Pickens apparently didn't get the memo that it wasn't public knowledge and revealed that Wilson would be starting.

"Getting on the same page after practice throwing," Pickens said on Friday . "More than usual because, you know, this is his first start."

Wilson signed with the Steelers this offseason after being released by the Denver Broncos. He was named the starter prior to the season but was slowed by the calf injury.

Wilson has a decorated resume. He's a nine-time Pro Bowler and won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seattle Seahawks.
