Bills Announce Starting Kicker vs. Titans

The Buffalo Bills will look to keep a strong lead in the AFC East when they host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Buffalo is coming off a sloppy divisional win against the New York Jets on Monday night. In the win, kicker Tyler Bass missed two kicks, one of which was an extra point. Through six games, Bass has made 75 percent of his field goal attempts (30th in the league) and 90 percent of his extra point attempts (32nd).

The team seemingly brought in some competition for Bass earlier in the week, trying out multiple kickers and signing Lukas Havrisik to their practice squad.

Even though it seems that Bass' job could be in jeopardy, coach Sean McDermott did confirm that he will remain the starter against Tennessee on Sunday. However, Bass' performance against the Titans will be very crucial. Just one missed kick could be all it takes for the Bills to bench him in future weeks.

Bass has put up career-low numbers so far this season. Prior to this year, his lowest season field goal percentage was 82 percent his rookie year. He has also never missed more than two extra points in a season, and he has already missed two through six games.

If the Bills do decide to go in a different direction and aren't impressed with Havrisik, there are multiple available free agent kickers who have experience, including Randy Bullock, Cade York, Anders Carlson and Riley Patterson.
