Chilly Start with Warming Temperatures and Rain Forecast for Inland Northwest Washington

The National Weather Service in Spokane has reported a chilly start to Friday, with temperatures in the Inland Northwest dropping into the 20s across much of the region. A flat ridge of high pressure is moving in, allowing for drier air and a slight warming trend over the weekend. Clear skies are contributing to cold overnight temperatures, and fog has developed in some areas, particularly in valleys following recent rains.

As the day progresses, light southerly winds are expected to bring warmer temperatures into the 50s, with plenty of sunshine in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho after morning fog dissipates. However, the Cascades will see an increase in mid- and high-level clouds, with chances of light rain and mountain snow.
