American Airlines is implementing new technology aimed at streamlining the boarding process and preventing passengers from cutting in line.

The Fort Worth-based airline is currently testing software that alerts gate agents when a passenger attempts to board before their designated group is called.

This initiative was first reported by View from the Wing.

The system utilizes a computer connected to the boarding pass scanner, which will display an alert message and sound an alarm if a passenger tries to board early.

For most travelers, the ability to line up early and board at will may soon be a thing of the past.
