Chocoholics around the world have been clamoring to get their hands on one of the viral chocolate treats this year: the Dubai chocolate bar. Crunchy, sweet and gooey are a few words to describe this chocolate bar, but you won’t know until you try it yourself. This is easier than you think as many copycat recipes for this chocolate bar are circulating online. All you need is six ingredients to recreate this treat in a few hours. Read on for the scoop on the viral Dubai chocolate bar and an irresistible recipe to make at home!

The ingredients in a Dubai chocolate bar

This treat consists of a milk or dark chocolate bar that's filled with a mixture of pistachio butter and toasted, shredded phyllo dough (also called kataifi). Often, melted white chocolate colored with food dye is drizzled on top of the candy bar for a decorative finish.

Why the Dubai chocolate bar remains a viral treat

What makes this chocolate bar unique is the soft and nutty filling, which complements the sweet and slightly earthy chocolate. That's why it didn't take long for this bar to go viral after TikTok creator @ mariavehera257 posted herself eating one in 2023 from the Dubai-based dessert shop, Fix Dessert Chocolatier. Since then, many confectioneries have made their own versions of the Dubai chocolate bar so customers anywhere can enjoy it. Magno Chocolates is a great example of this as they sell their Pistachio Knafeh Chocolate Bar , which is extra thick with a luscious pistachio-phyllo center, online and ship it to most U.S. states.

On a similar note, many dessert bars, including Bar 32 Chocolate in Atlantic City, NJ, are putting a unique spin on this trendy treat. Bar 32 recently unveiled their Dubai-Inspired Bons Bons , a miniature version of the standard chocolate bar that's hand-crafted by founder and chocolatier Nicole Callazzo. These treats are the world's first bean-to-bar Dubai chocolate bon bons and boost the right balance of rich and sweet flavors. It's a limited time release that's only available for pickup at Bar 32, located on 121 South Tennessee Avenue in Atlantic City.
