You should never feel pressured by solicitors to immediately give to a charity. It’s important to do the research to verify if they’re authentic first.”If a South Carolinian is interested in making a charitable donation, the IRS encourages them to checkthe Tax-Exempt Organization Search tool on IRS.gov.Using this tool, residents can verify the legitimacy of a charity, check its eligibility to receive tax-deductible contributions, and discover information about an organization's tax-exempt status and filings, according to a release from the agency.Individuals who encounter a fake or suspicious charity is asked tosee the FBI’s resources on Charity and Disaster Fraud.</div></body>
