Ex-Trump press secretary tells Dems to retire Trump claim to ‘dustbin of history’

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany vehemently defended Donald Trump from an Obama-era official's claim that the former president has “demonized brown and Black people” – which she characterized as a tired campaign playbook that isn’t working.

The moment came Friday on Fox News’ “Outnumbered” during a discussion about Vice President Kamala Harris skipping the Al Smith charity dinner the night before. Patrick Murphy , an Obama-appointed former under secretary of the Army, told the show’s hosts that Trump has for years “demonized brown and Black people.”

“He’s the one that separated families,” Murphy, a former Pennsylvania congressman said. “…They demonized 20,000 Haitian American – legal immigrants – in Ohio,” he added, throwing his hands in the air as McEnany began to push back on the portrayal of her former boss.

She unleashed a forceful response.

“He has not demonized Black people,” the Republican said flatly. “I am having a flashback to 2016 when the left tried to use the racism playbook – and newsflash – it’s not working.”

She continued her defense of the former president by telling Murphy that Black men are becoming increasingly supportive of Trump and referenced an article “giving jitters to the Kamala Harris campaign in Pennsylvania” showing similar movement among Latino men.

“So, with all due respect, I think that talking point should be in the dustbin of history because it’s not working this cycle,” McEnany said.
